Medical Student Education

Dr. Malhotra believes that training the next generation of psychiatrists is a critical responsibility for those in the field. Since 2023, she has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, her alma mater. In October 2024, she assumed the role of Psychiatry Clerkship Director for the Dallas Campus. In this capacity, she designs and oversees clinical rotations, providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn and grow in diverse mental health settings. Equally important to her teaching philosophy is instilling empathy, respect, and a nuanced understanding of the complexities of mental health. Through her work, she strives to shape compassionate, well-rounded physicians who are not only skilled in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions but also in caring for the whole person.

Medical students occasionally join her clinic as part of their educational journey, gaining valuable insights into the compassionate practice of psychiatry. Your comfort and privacy always remain the top priority, and attendance in any session is entirely your choice. Dr. Malhotra fully respects the courage it takes to seek help and understands the deeply personal nature of these conversations. You can always decide what feels best for you, ensuring that your care experience is supportive, safe, and tailored to your needs.
